Our Mission

Answering the call
since day one.

Dean Dale Volunteer Fire Department was born from a simple conviction: that in rural Wichita County, no family should wait for help that may never arrive. Our founders — neighbors, friends, and fellow citizens — gathered at a crossroads fire station on State Highway 79 and swore to be the first ones there when the alarm sounds.

Today, that commitment hasn't wavered. We respond to structure fires, vehicle accidents, medical emergencies, and natural disasters — often within minutes of the call. Our volunteers leave their homes, their jobs, their dinners, and run toward the chaos so others can run to safety.

We are not a municipal department. We are a community. Every one of our 50+ volunteers brings something different to the station — a carpenter, a teacher, a mechanic, a nurse — and together they form a team that operates on trust, discipline, and an unbreakable bond forged in the heat of emergency.

Our headquarters at 6939 State Highway 79 North serves as both our operational base and a beacon for the surrounding rural communities. When you see our red trucks roll out, you're seeing neighbors answering a call to service — not because it pays, but because it's who they are.

What We Do

Full-spectrum
emergency response

Structure Fire Response

From residential homes to agricultural buildings, our crews arrive equipped and ready to contain and extinguish fires before they spread.

Vehicle & Rescue

Highway 79 sees heavy traffic. Our technicians specialize in vehicle extrication and roadside emergency response along rural corridors.

Medical First Response

Our EMT-certified volunteers provide life-saving care in those critical first minutes before ambulances arrive on scene.

Community Education

Fire safety workshops, school visits, and station tours for Wichita Falls families — prevention is our first line of defense.

Wildland & Brush Fires

Rural Wichita County means open land. Our wildland team monitors and combats brush fires, especially during dry Texas seasons.

24/7 Dispatch

Our communications center never sleeps. Call 1940-766-1959 any time — day or night, we're standing by to take your call.

Not just responders — neighbors

When the alarm sounds,
we don't clock in. We show up.

Our Story

Built on
courage & community

The Beginning

A handful of Wichita County residents saw the need. Rural living demands self-reliance, and the Dean Dale area was underserved. They pooled resources, secured the station on Highway 79, and began training.

Growing Stronger

Word spread. More volunteers joined — some from the area, others drawn by the department's reputation for excellence. Equipment was upgraded, training intensified, and response times dropped.

Today

Dean Dale Volunteer Fire Department stands as one of Wichita Falls' most trusted institutions. Fifty-plus volunteers. A modernized station. A community that relies on us — and a team that never lets them down.
